, let’s look at how you can create one.
For the purposes of this post, we’re going to assume that you already have a hosting plan and domain name , and that you’ve installed wordpress. Once you’ve completed all of those tasks, you can start in on the steps below to transform your wordpress site into a fully-functioning membership platform.
Once you’ve decided on a domain name, you’ll need to set up hosting for your blog. While wordpress itself is free (see step 2 below), you need a reliable place to host your wordpress blog (your blog needs to be on a server somewhere on the internet). For hosting, we recommend bluehost for several reasons: we use bluehost. We personally use bluehost to host the minimalists. If you recommend a company, you better be willing to use their product yourself. We also use them to host several other websites of ours. Great pricing. Theminimalists. Step 2. Install WordPress
There are two ways to implement google web stories on your website – using code and a wordpress web stories plugin. We recommend using a plugin because it is simpler and doesn’t require any coding knowledge. However, this method is only applicable to wordpress sites. For this tutorial, we will use google’s web stories plugin. While the steps may differ depending on the plugins, the general method is similar:
download and install the plugin. On your wordpress sidebar, click stories → add new.
Create your google web story. On the sidebar, go to the document tab. Enter the required information, such as permalink, cover image, and publisher logo.
Once your hosting account is setup, the next step is to pick a blogging platform. (we’re almost there i promise!) there are a lot of options out there, from blogger to tumblr, squarespace and several more. I started out on wordpress. Org and it has grown with my site, so that’s what i recommend you use to get started. But it’s not just me who thinks wordpress is a great option… 25% of all websites online are built on the wordpress platform, and it is uniquely designed for bloggers. To get started with wordpress, login to your bluehost account and look for the “install wordpress” icon in your home dashboard:.
One of the reasons why wordpress is so popular is that it’s extremely flexible and user-friendly, with an intuitive interface. Wordpress also comes with a vast selection of plugins, which are small pieces of software that can be installed on your website to extend functionality or add new features. Some of these plugins include page builders, which make creating landing pages in wordpress effortless. They typically have a visual user interface that doesn’t require code or a complicated setup. This means even beginners can make a landing page without hiring a developer. Now you know what a landing page is and how it can help your marketing efforts.
Step 4. Optimize your settings
Each social network formats your content differently, so you’ll want it optimized to format properly across the main social networks (your thumbnail image is the correct size and your titles and descriptions are tailored for each social network if you choose). The yoast wordpress seo plugin does a fantastic job with this and i will assume you’re using it. Step 1: go to the “users” section in wordpress and make sure each person fills out their facebook, twitter and google+ fields. Step 2: configure the social tab in yoast: facebook opengraph twitter cards (remember to validate your twitter cards ) google+ meta data pinterest (located in yoast’s “dashboard” settings).
